Level Design

Welcome back to my development journey. With all the work that i’ve done, I have two main things left to build which is the level using grey boxing to build a foundation of the map. Also used Miro to blueprint the level. However, this is something that constantly takes me by suprise. The large amount of work that goes into building a fully fledged level is something I wasn’t expecting.

In the end, I managed to create a tutorial level a middle section and finally a boss room. Basic design and programming went into this incorporating mechanics such as elevators one side openable doors that borrow from Soulsbourne games.

This week was successful however I struggled with incorporating a save system that truly works unfortunately had to impliment chests at every spawn point with the items the player would have discovered in the game in order for them to not lose any progress. This solution was the best i could come up with considering the little time i had left.

In the final week, I’ll be finishing the game and polishing anything I can.
